Shon has been working really long hours lately and trying to get lots of stuff taken care of. Tuesday he got home from work around 7 and said he was not going in Wed. We decided to do something relaxing and much needed, so we got up Wed. morning, (yesterday), drove the 3 hours to Mesa, and went to the temple! We are grateful for family close by that so willingly takes care of Cody and makes the temple possible. It was almost 80 outside and beautiful. The flowers were amazing and they smelled SOOOOO good. We spend some time on our "date" just walking around and taking it all in. We live in such a beautiful world and we feel so blessed. The temple was beautiful inside too and we had a wonderful experience.
We both loved being able to "escape" the business of life, and we were able to do that for a short time. When we got out Shon had a ton of texts and voicemail and he ended up having to go back in to work when we got home and put out some fires anyway, but we are so thankful for the wonderful day we had and that we were able to be close to the Lord.
We got home and Shon packed his bags for a couple weeks training at Fort Hood, TX then went into work. He got home after midnight and left around 2 AM for his training. (Does it ever stop?) We will miss him the next couple weeks! Cody still has his cast on for at least another week. He is hanging in there and we are all doing great.
